Gold prices rose by Rs19 to Rs61,175 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on firm spot demand. Silver prices jumped Rs516 to Rs72,233 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for December delivery traded higher by Rs19 or 0.03 per cent at Rs61,175 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 14,824 lots. Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said. Globally, gold futures went up by 0.33 per cent to $2,005.00 per ounce in New York.

On MCX, silver contracts for December delivery increased Rs516 or 0.72 per cent to Rs72,233 per kg in 18,241 lots.
